NetBoss history

Harris Integrated Network Tools (HINT). Developed for remote management of network assets. Provided to FAA in 1991-1992—one of the earliest network management systems ever deployed.

Harris Network Manager (HNM). Our second generation of management tools, including fault and performance management, developed in Harris Corporation’s corporate NOC.

NetBoss Manage.IT. Our third-generation management system. Dramatic advance in OSS solutions, providing one of the first integrated network management systems. Far more powerful than the simple fault and event management systems of that time. Now a proven, highly scalable solution with deployments in every region of the world and in multiple markets. Still much in demand as a manager of managers.

Complete services. During this same period, NetBoss matured its outstanding service offering into a comprehensive services suite, including custom design, integration, implementation, training and 24x7 customer support.

NetBoss XT. Driven by customer input and the emergence of new technologies and standards, we introduced NetBoss XT, our innovative fourth-generation product family. The XT family is information model-based, 100% Java and capable of supporting all network functionalities in a converged environment. Capabilities now include service management, which along with our resource and network management capabilities, provides complete service assurance.

January 2007. NetBoss became the Network Operations business unit of the newly formed Harris Stratex Networks and continues to expand. In addition to evolving our core OSS solutions, the NetBoss team now has responsibility for two widely deployed element management systems for microwave radio networks―ProVision and StarView.

More recently. We have enlarged the scope of our OSS solutions through partnerships with best-in-class third-party suppliers. We now offer expanded capabilities, going beyond fault and performance management, reporting, inventory and service management, executive dashboards and probes to deliver state-of-the-art service assurance.
