Overview

Starlink™ is an innovative computer program that can help you quickly and easily plan the most cost-effective and reliable digital microwave path. A single program can be used for both North American (T1) and CEPT (E1) digital standards, using either English or Metric notation. Starlink computes the received signal level, multipath outage and reliability, rain outage and availability for Harris Stratex microwave radio links. It does not execute path profiling, path geometry or other graphical computations.

Starlink runs under Windows® NT Service Pack 4 or later, Windows XP Home and Professional Edition and Windows® 2000. See System requirements for further compatibility information. The program includes a database of most Harris Stratex digital microwave equipment, as well as a transmission engineering tutorial.

Installation

Important: To install this program correctly, you must close down all running applications. It may be necessary and it is recommended that you close background applications such as virus checkers and shell / toolbar / tray programs. Running File Manager or Windows Explorer should not cause any problems.

1. Close all applications, including background applications such as virus checkers and shell / toolbar / tray programs.
2. Once you have downloaded the Starlink setup file, double-click it and follow the on-screen instructions.
